Quality Care and Advanced Technology

Metro MRI Center has provided affordable Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services to the Quad City area (Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, and Bettendorf) and the surrounding communities since 1990. Following the opening of its site in Moline with a high-field MRI scanner, Metro began a new era of diagnostic services in its community, offering the highest level in quality care using the most advanced imaging technology available. Not only that, Metro MRI’s clinics offer evening and weekend hours.

Our Timeline

In 1997, the addition of an Open MRI scanner enabled Metro to accommodate claustrophobic and very large patients that often preferred or needed the design of the Open MRI scanner. Metro MRI Center was the first in this area to be accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). In May 2007, the low-field Open MRI scanner was replaced by a stronger, more powerful Wide Bore MRI while continuing to provide comfort to all patients.

Due to the increasing demand for MR imaging services to hospital inpatients, Metro placed a 1.5 Tesla MRI system in Trinity Medical Center Rock Island Campus in 2000. This provided a local, outpatient MRI service and eliminated the need to transfer inpatients to and from the outpatient facility in Moline.

Metro introduced Breast MRI to the community, and were the first facility in the Quad City area to be awarded a three-year term of accreditation in breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Metro MRI added a 3T scanner at our main office, promoting specialty exams, including prostate MRI.

Metro MRI offers the newest advancements in MRI with specialty examinations like cardiovascular imaging (CVMR), brain spectroscopy (MRS), breast imaging (MR Mammography), and prostate MRI. We strive to stay up to date with current technologies and applications to better serve our patients and referring community.

Skilled and highly trained technologists at Metro perform the MRI examination. They are ARRT radiographers and have earned certification in advanced level MRI. They are selected for their professional competence, as well as for their compassion and pride they take in their work. Good patient care and high quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging studies are very important to us.

All exams performed at Metro MRI are interpreted by radiologists of Advanced Radiology, S.C. all of whom are certified by the American Board of Radiology. The radiologists have established themselves as valued consultants and colleagues with the referring physicians.Metro MRI is available for all patients 24 hours daily. For an appointment call Illinois (309) 762-7227 or Iowa (563) 359-0277.

Metro MRI greatly appreciates the acceptance and support it has received from the Quad City community (Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, and Bettendorf), as well as the surrounding areas.
